Honours: Co-Recipient of the 2024 Governor General's Innovation Award (founding member of the Canadian Archaeological Association's Working Group on Unmarked Graves). I was similarly honoured to receive a SSHRC award dedicated to Nelson Mandela’s legacy.
Innovation: Co-designed (with Dr. Kisha Supernant) the "Community-Engaged Indigenous Archaeo-geophysics and Remote Sensing (CIARS)" Lab at the University of Alberta, a $1.3-million-dollar (CFI-JELF) research lab focused on the advancement of large-scale surveying technologies to community-driven/collaborative archaeology and the residential school searches in Western Canada. As well, I have been a co-applicant/collaborator on ~$2.5-million CAD of successful research grants (of which ~$40,000 CAD as PI). Currently, preparing SSHRC Insight Grant applications for the next phases of my research.
Knowledge Mobilization: 9 peer-reviewed journal articles, 1 edited volume, 6 book chapters, 3 expanded abstracts, 2 book reviews, 16 sole author conference presentations, 24 co-authored conference presentations, 19 invited talks, and 14 published media interviews.
International Collaborations: Although I primarily lead and collaborate on projects within Canada, I have worked on, collaborated with, or participated in archaeological projects in USA, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland, UK, Greece, and Israel. Most notably, I was a visiting researcher at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Archaeological Prospection and Virtual Archaeology in Vienna, Austria (Spring 2023).
